New Jersey-based rock band Rich Cahill and the Lonely Lands was officially formed in 2024 following Cahill’s debut EP, Hawk Over the Highway. The band, hailing from the Garden State’s Hunterdon County, is comprised of singer/guitarist/drums Rich Cahill, piano/organist Mike Panella, and bassist Bob Factor. Already long-time friends, some members of the Lonely Lands have Cahill’s Americana-influenced songwriting meets the band’s musical prowess in a fashion reminiscent of Wilco, Deerhunter, or even Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers.
Already a successful tattoo artist, frontman Rich Cahill stepped into independent musicianship early in 2023. With the release of his 2024 single “Forever Home,” Cahill takes a step further into the rock n’ roll side of his songwriting. Unlike his earlier work, this track features driven electric guitar solos and pocketed drum fills that point fingers at the band of friends now joining him on his journey. “There’s nothing better than creating music with some of your oldest friends,” said Cahill, “We’re just getting started.”
Rich Cahill and the Lonely Lands have plans to perform throughout 2025, and hope to record a full length record in the near future.
